Remember to inform the Credit Union before you travel anywhere; this includes within state but out of your local/routine purchasing area, out of state, and internationally. This is so that fraudulent activity is not suspected which blocks use of your VISA/Debit cards.
With numerous credit and debit card, and other financial scams happening, it’s crucial to follow these guidelines if you receive a call or email regarding fraud on your card or requesting social security or account numbers:
-
NEVER give ANY card information over the phone, especially your 3-digit security code on the back of the card. A valid fraud department call from VISA or MASTERCARD already has all the information on your card. They usually ask for only the last 4-digits of your social security number and whether or not you made certain purchases.
-
NEVER give ANY account numbers OR Social Security numbers. These are NEVER solicited by CTFCU employees by phone or e-mail, so never provide this information to anyone who calls or e-mails you.
